whew......tops are done

This is Berte's quilt top, Seeds of Riverbend. I started this quilt this past Spring, and finished the top yesterday!!!!
This is Nathan's quilt top, Love You Bunches, and I started it this summer and pieced it as a leader/ender to Berte's quilt. (I picked up 2 pieces of fabric of Nathan's and sewed them together, didn't cut the thread, and fed 2 pieces of Berte's into the machine, didn't cut the thread, and fed 2 more pieces of Nathan's into the machine, leaving it under the presser foot. Then I cut the pieces behind the machine and take them off the chain. Sometimes the chain can get pretty long before I clip it off) .I finished Nathan's quilt top today!!!!
I've decided to quilt these myself instead of mailing them off to the quilter. I will rent the quilter's machine and she can teach me how to quilt them.

PS: The hand on the left of each picture is Suella Kaiser's hand. She asked for credit. It was very windy. Alan took the photos.

So when is it your FAVORITE cousin's turn for a quilt? (You were even in my wedding!) I don't want you getting bored when these two are finished and I will make it easy on you. I want one exactly like Berte's, same colors and everything. It's beautiful!
You can call mine "Seeds of the Hill Country".
PS... Suella & Alan did great jobs too.

Jan, I just might surprise you with a quilt one day. And now I've got what you want, hah! Although I'd get bored if it was the same--but you never know! And yes, I think about your wedding and my yellow dress often in fact. I felt like a Barbie doll in your wedding--very special in fact.
love ya, mimi

It's beautiful and you're doing such a great job knocking these out! Isn't it addictive? And Mother did a great job of holding the quilt too!
I'm soooo proud of you and your work!
