my new exercise program

Here's a picture of the exercise equipment I've been using to get some exercise. It weighs almost 30 pounds, is 18 months old, and constantly moves so you feel your muscles all over getting a workout. It helps you do squats, deep knee bends, up and down from a sitting position, up and down from a floor position, and sometimes it's on top of you bouncing wanting you to work your stomach muscles. For some reason, it also keeps you from eating ice cream, cookies, anything really good while it's around because it wants it also. It makes you get fresh air and not stay indoors and sit on the couch. It especially works your arms and legs. You can't buy this equipment in stores. You can't get it in a box of Breeze. But you will fall in love with it, I promise, the more you're around it. They call it a SadieBug, Sadie for short.

Every girl needs her shoes.

I have to brag on Heather Norris, Byron's girlfriend. She taught herself to crochet this past September 2008. And her crochet skills are amazing. She's crocheted Byron an afghan for Christmas, her Dad a beautiful table runner, 4 coasters for me, who knows what else she's managed to make, she bought a crochet pattern for a skirt and top for herself, and 2 days ago Judy received this package for newborn Tessa.

Heather, Tessa's shoes are perfect! She loves them. She wears them with socks.(Oh and did I say Heather is in business graduate school plus works as a TA? How does she find time for everything? Heather you're amazing!

It's a new day!

Wednesday February 11
Yesterday was some day! We took Tessa in a for a weight check and bilirubin count. We were almost home and Sadie threw up in the truck 3 times. So that meant cleaning out the truck, draping the sofas with towels in case it happened again, and snuggling with a lethargic 18 month old and trying to keep her calm. And it was a cloudy day with some hard rain off and on.

Sadie's feeling better today but still kind of puny, Tessa's nursing better and had a weight gain and her bilirubin count is going down which is good. Judy is feeling better, actually got more sleep last night, so things are looking up.

Here's some pictures of Tessa almost smiling and Sadie was trying to drape Tessa's blanket on her before I took her picture. So none of the 3 pictures are very clear or very good. But since that's how it goes, that's what you get.

naptime!

It's Monday morning and everyone's taking a much needed morning nap. No pictures today. But the lights are low, Baby Tessa is asleep in the bouncy seat, Judy on the couch, and Sadie in her crib. The dishwasher is on and has a soothing machine sound with running water. This will last hopefully for at least 30 minutes if we're all lucky. Tessa isn't even 5 full days old yet, and each day is ticking away as expected. We're all tired.
Sadie is lovin' her bebe--that's how she says it. Not baby, but bebe. And she's said Tessa a few times but usually says Bebe. Now that I type it I'm thinking that's how she's saying Tessa, even though she's actually said every sound in "Tessa".
All for now.

Ola from La Manzanillo, Mexico

Alan and I are in La Manzanillo, Mexico, with his sister Connie and his Uncle Ronnie. We're here for 2 weeks while Connie is having her vacation home here remodeled/fixed up. She and her husband Danny may eventually live here but for now they come here about 4 times a year, and rent it out the rest of the time. We're here in high season so there's lots of Canadians here for the winter. I'm going to post some pictures of our street, of the beach, of us eating.

I've also taken pictures of inside Connie's main house. Here's the kitchen, which is huge, and the dining area looking out to the front fo the house towards the main street. There's a bungalow downstairs which is being worked on. It's a one room studio on street level, with kitchen, bathroom, bed, futon all in one room--well the kitchen and bathroom are separate.
Okay my last picture won't upload, so you'll have to see it in a nother blog when I post again. And I'll include some beach pictures. Starting tomorrow the town is having their annual Fiesta de la Toros, and the first day is Gringo Day, where the local foreigners sponsor the first day to show their appreciation to the local Mexicans. And there's supposed to be loud crazy parades, which will come right down main street, which is right below our balcony. We heard last year the town was trashed after the 4 days. We'll see. Of course I'll take pictures.
Just so everyone knonws--my third grandbaby, my second granddaughter, is due in 2 weeks! I'm flying home February 10, just a few days before she arrives by c-section. I'm anxious about not being there but trying to relax and not think about all the ways Judy could use my help right now.
So here you go cousin Jan--thanks for suggesting I update the blog. I always think I don't have anything blog worthy to write about. But here it is.
