It's windy here in Hawaii

Dog owners take the wind here seriously. We saw this dog waiting patiently for his master to come back from shopping. The dog rides in the back of the pick up truck. I guess the wind bothers him so his master took care of him. The dog seemed to love the solution.

My road to paradise.

We are in Hawaii! Sister Berte and I are roommates on the plane and at the hotel, so you might see lots of pics of her. I'll try and send some of me. We arrived at Maui airport and were very tired. Here's a picture letting Buddy know we arrived safely. No Buddy, this is not her new boyfriend.  I'm also including pictures of the night before in Dallas. Theresa and Ken came over so we could see the girls, Ashlyn, Kenley, and baby Leighton. I'll try and update every day or so. This is paradise!!
And yes we were each given a lei when we arrived at the hotel!
Until next time. From sea to shining sea.....

What a glorius day!

Here's some pictures of today at the orchard. The weather was about 75 degrees, sunny, a little breeze going, and just beautiful. God is an amazing God. He gives us such beauty. He didn't have to give us so many shades of green or blue, but He did. Thank you Lord Jesus!
And we have wonderful news to share! Haley told us a few weeks ago she and Tim are expecting their second baby, due in September. Judy told us she and Mark are expecting #3 the end of Thanksgiving. Wow, we're sooooo excited!
Here's what today was like, full of giggles, lots of sunshine, a few tears, and Tessa learned how to climb up in a chair by herself.
So, until next time. From sea to shining sea......

our happenings

Yeah, yeah, yeah, I know it's been awhile. But hey, life can get pretty busy. I'm here now. This will be short but with pictures. We've been hanging out here at the orchard. Alan decided to move his tools over to a new shop. Well, really he renovated the old shed, and now it's tool worthy. In my pictures you'll see lots of junk in front on the barn, all over the yard, etc. This is not normal for us. But Alan had to empty the old shed and put everything on proches, under the carport, out in the grass, until the shhop is complete and he can sort through things and purge, then move items back in. Inside the barn will be my sewing/quilting area plus living quarters. The living quarters will really be a living room area, but mainly it'll be for my stuff--sewing and quilting.
So right now everything is everywhere, stuffed in nooks and crannies, neither of us know where anything is. We're also planning a spring country sale, but that might not happen. Neither of us are experienced in garage sales nor do we want to do it. But we should do it. We have way too much junk. Even things I've saved and boxed up have been boxed for a couple of years. I've realized I can do without them so I might get rid rid of a lot of stuff. We'll see. Here's granddaughter Tessa  doing what she does. She walks, runs, but I guess since this is at eye level it beckons her. She got stuck half way through but it was so funny.

And here's Sadie playing with her dolls. I bought her a dolly bunk bed that she loves to play with when she comes to the barn. She was playing "going night night" and insisted she would fit in the bottom bunk.Do you see her houseshoes? I made them and cut out a Dora figure from soem fabric and appliqued it on the toe. She loves Dora. Here's Alan's shop, a work in progress. And the barn and carport is the next picture. It's never messy like this, so after remodeling I'll take pictures again. And here's the orchard, or part of it. Wintertime, no leaves, but notice the green grass. That's Texas! So that's all I have for this post. We're still alive and kickin'.

Until next time, from sea to shining sea......
